Museums in Bilbao

The most photogenic building of the 20th century: Frank Gehry clad it in 24,000 titanium panels that shift color with the light. Since 1997 it has housed contemporary art by Koons, Serra and Bourgeois. The spider sculpture Maman at the entrance stands 9 meters tall. Free for under-18s.

One of Spain's finest museums: 10,000 pieces spanning the 12th century to today, including El Greco, Goya, Murillo, Sorolla and Francis Bacon. Founded in 1914 next to the Parque de Doña Casilda. Undergoing expansion works in 2026; partial free access.
